Let a pleasant moment finish before reaching for a way to preserve it.

Reaching for a camera changes your position in a moment. You stop being inside it and start managing it, and everyone else notices and adjusts. The impulse is affection, a wish to keep something, but the keeping begins before the thing being kept has finished happening. A photograph taken too eagerly often records the end of what it wanted.
When something good is happening this week, stay in it and let the recording wait until it has run its course. Take the picture afterwards if you still want one. Some moments are better remembered badly than interrupted well.
When did recording a moment pull you out of it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
