A growing child should not have to argue for every sign that they have grown.

Parents update slowly, because the earlier version of a child is the one they knew best and the one they had to protect. Meanwhile the child keeps changing, and every new freedom becomes something to be negotiated, defended and proved. The tiring part is not the rule but the arguing, the sense that growth is only granted after a case has been made.
Consider offering something before it is requested this month: a later hour, a decision they make alone, a task you stop checking. Unrequested trust says you are watching them grow rather than waiting to be convinced.
Whose growth are you still asking them to prove to you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
