A different route becomes useful when it fits your present circumstances, not merely your wish to keep moving.

When something is blocked, the urge to change direction is powerful, and any movement feels better than standing still. A new path chosen mainly to escape that feeling tends to be judged by how different it looks rather than whether it suits your money, your health, or your obligations. Motion is not the same as progress.

Before switching course, test the new route against your actual constraints this year. If it only makes sense in a version of your life you do not currently have, keep it as a possibility and choose something that fits the life you do have.
