People stay more engaged when their questions help shape the job instead of merely delaying it.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

A question can be treated two ways. It can be an obstacle between the group and the work, absorbed politely and then ignored, or it can be information that changes what gets built. People tell the difference quickly. Once asking has visibly made no difference twice, they stop asking, and you lose the early warnings along with their interest.

When someone raises something, say what you will do with it before you move on. Change one thing visibly because of a question this week, and name whose question it was.
