A brief acknowledgment can keep another person from wondering whether their effort disappeared.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Sending work into silence is unsettling in a specific way. Not knowing whether it arrived, whether it was any good, or whether it was read at all leaves a person managing an open question for days, and that uncertainty costs more than a critical reply would. Two words close it completely.
Reply to things you cannot properly answer yet. Say it arrived, say when you will get to it, and treat the acknowledgment as a separate obligation from the response itself.
Whose sent work are you leaving without a word of reply?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
