Freedom without judgment becomes another form of captivity.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Freedom without judgment is just being pushed around by whatever appetite is loudest at the time. If every option is open and nothing inside you selects among them, you end up governed by impulse, which is not liberty in any meaningful sense. The bars are gone and you still cannot go where you want.
The corrective is not more rules imposed from outside but a few commitments you actually choose. Name two or three things you will not do regardless of how the mood argues. Those limits are what make the rest of your freedom usable, because they hold a shape steady enough for you to live inside.
Where has having no limits made you less free?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
