A measured response can preserve choices that an immediate reaction would remove.

LEADERSHIP
Speed closes doors. The message sent in the first hot minute, the resignation offered in a meeting, the sentence you cannot take back: each converts a situation with several possible endings into one with a single ending you did not choose calmly. Waiting is not passivity, it is keeping your options in your own hands a little longer. The strength of the feeling is rarely a good guide to the value of acting on it now.
When something provokes you this week, write the reply and leave it unsent overnight. Read it in the morning and decide what you still want to do.
What did a quick reaction of yours cost you last time?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
