A person’s different way of enjoying an occasion does not make their presence less sincere.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
People enjoy occasions differently. One talks all evening, one watches from the edge of the room, one arrives late and leaves early, and only the loudest version tends to be read as real enthusiasm. Quiet attendance can cost more effort and mean more than the noisy kind. Presence is the offering, and it does not come in a single style.
At the next gathering, look at what somebody did in order to be there rather than how visibly they enjoyed it. Thank the quiet ones, who are least likely to be noticed.
Whose quieter way of joining in have you misread as distance?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
