The image you missed does not erase the moment you were there to experience.

A missed photograph can feel like a lost memory, as though the moment only half happened without a record of it. You were there, though, and the experience did what experiences do whether or not a file exists to prove it. The camera has quietly become a witness people trust more than themselves. What you noticed at the time is not deleted by the absence of an image.
When you miss a shot, spend the next minute looking properly at whatever you were about to capture. Describe it to somebody later instead of showing it to them.
Which moment do you remember better for not photographing it?
