The brave choice may be the ordinary conversation you have been turning into a larger fear.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Fear grows in proportion to how long something is postponed. A five-minute conversation becomes, after two months of rehearsing it, an event with weather around it, and its size in your head has almost nothing to do with its size in the room. What is actually required is usually plain speech for a short while. Courage here gets measured in minutes rather than in drama.
Name the conversation you have been avoiding and write out its first sentence. Have it this week, early in the day, before the rehearsing starts again.
Which small conversation have you built into something enormous?
