A person’s good news should not have to wait until it is large enough for everyone to understand.

Small victories often go unmentioned because they seem too minor to announce. Someone finishes a first draft, gets through a phone call they had dreaded, or has a decent week after a run of bad ones, and none of it has a name that other people would recognise as an achievement. The result is that a lot of genuine gladness never gets shared with anyone.
Tell someone about the small good thing this week without framing it as trivial. And when a friend mentions something modest, treat it as news rather than as a preamble to bigger news. Being pleased at a small scale is most of what friendship is.
