A break during a walk does not cancel the distance already enjoyed.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Rest gets treated as an admission that the effort did not count, as though stopping halfway erases the half already behind you. Nothing works that way. The distance is in your legs, the air is breathed, and the bench is part of the walk rather than an interruption of it. All-or-nothing thinking is the quickest route to abandoning something you genuinely enjoy.

Let yourself stop when you want to on the next walk, and carry on afterwards or not. Count the whole outing, sitting included, and notice whether the day feels different for having counted it.
