A loving routine needs occasional checking to make sure both people still enjoy it.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Habits outlive the reasons for them. The Sunday visit, the weekly meal, the tradition begun when everyone was different can run for years past the point where either person actively wants it, each continuing because they assume the other still does. Nothing is wrong, exactly, and yet a fair amount of time is going to affection that has become a formality.
Ask about one long-standing routine directly: whether it is still good, what would make it better. Give real permission for the answer to be that it could change, and be ready to like the change.
Do you both still enjoy the ritual you have kept?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
