Shared pride is stronger when everyone can see a place for their contribution.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Pride that names only the visible few thins out fast. People stay attached to a result when they can point at the part their own hands touched, and they drift when the story of the work has no room for them. Nothing about that is vanity. It is the ordinary need to belong to something you helped make.

Next time you describe a good outcome, name at least one contribution that would normally go unmentioned. Be specific about what that person did rather than thanking everyone at once. Watch how differently the group carries the next piece of work.
