A classroom feels different when mistakes are examined without becoming entertainment.

Laughter at an error teaches the whole room what trying costs. Nobody needs telling directly, because everyone saw what happened to the last person who was wrong out loud, and the safest response is silence. A mistake looked at plainly does the opposite. It becomes shared material, evidence of where the thinking bends, and the person who offered it has lost nothing.
Keep your voice level when something wrong comes up, and go straight to the interesting part of it. Thank the person for the attempt without making a ceremony of it. Watch what happens to the number of hands in the room over the following weeks.
Where do you laugh at errors that someone needed to understand?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
