A fresh idea can become confusing when too many other fresh ideas arrive beside it.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Novelty needs something steady beside it to register as novelty at all. One new idea in a familiar setting stands out and can be examined. Five arriving together cancel each other, and people respond to the volume rather than to any of them, usually by disengaging. What looks like resistance is often just an inability to tell which change is which.

Introduce one thing at a time and let it settle before the next. Say plainly what is staying the same, because that is what makes the new part visible. If you have several good ideas, put them in an order rather than in a pile.
