Courage is trusting yourself enough to survive an imperfect result.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Underneath most hesitation is a doubt about your own resilience rather than about the plan. If you knew you would be fine after a poor result, the risk would look ordinary. What makes it feel unbearable is the suspicion that a bad outcome would break something in you.

So examine that suspicion directly. Look at what you have already survived, including things you did not think you would. Then ask what specifically about this result would be unrecoverable. Usually nothing is, and once you can see that, the decision becomes about the merits rather than about whether you could take the hit.
