A signature can be quick for the signer and decisive for someone waiting elsewhere.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

One act can be trivial on one side of a desk and load-bearing on the other. For the signer it is the fortieth item of the morning, thirty seconds, already forgotten. For the person waiting it may be a tenancy, a payment, a treatment, and the days in between are lived with the whole thing unresolved. The asymmetry is almost never felt by whoever holds the pen.

If people wait on your approvals, deal with them first rather than last. Where you cannot decide quickly, say when you will, because a date is worth a great deal to someone counting days.
