A crowded schedule can hide an unfamiliar relationship with yourself.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A full calendar is an effective way of never being alone with yourself. It is socially approved, it feels productive, and it can run for years without anyone including you noticing that it is functioning as avoidance. The busyness is real; so is what it is keeping at a distance.
Look at your schedule and ask whether any of the fullness is protective. Then clear a few hours with nothing in them and see what comes up in the space. If the answer is that it feels intolerable, that is worth knowing, and it is more useful information than another busy week would have provided.
What might a completely empty week ask of you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
