A title introduces a responsibility more clearly than it introduces a person.

LEADERSHIP
A title tells you what someone is accountable for and almost nothing about who they are. It is useful information and a poor summary, and confusing the two is where first impressions usually go wrong. People end up treated as a function rather than a person who happens to have one. What a title describes is a set of duties, not a character.
When you meet someone this week, let the title tell you what to ask about, then ask about something else as well. If you carry one yourself, notice when introducing your responsibilities has quietly become how you introduce yourself.
What does your title fail to tell people about you?
