The person meeting you at the station has turned arrival into being received.

Arriving and being received are different experiences. One ends with you on a platform working out the next step; the other ends with a face that was waiting, and the journey closes rather than merely stopping. The practical help is minor and the difference is not. Someone gave up an hour so that you would not land alone.
If a person you care about is travelling soon, consider meeting them at the door, the gate or the platform. If that is impossible, arrive another way: a message timed for their landing, a light left on, food in the fridge. Being expected is most of what makes a place home.
