A machine can be running while slowly spending the reliability nobody is measuring.

Working and being well are not the same state. A machine that starts every morning can still be wearing through bearings, heat and tolerance that no gauge in the room reports, and the first visible sign arrives once the reserve is gone. What gets measured is output, because output is easy to see. The stock being drawn down stays invisible until it is not there.

With anything you depend on daily, check something other than whether it is still running. For equipment that means service before failure. For people, including you, it means asking about sleep, pain and reserve rather than only about what got finished.
