Getting something out of your house and finding it a decent end are two different tasks, and only the first feels urgent. A coat that no longer suits you is still a warm coat for somebody. Tools, books, and children’s things have long lives left in them that a bin ends early. None of this is a reason to keep what you do not use, only a reason to spend ten more minutes on the leaving than on the deciding.
Set aside one bag this week and give it a specific destination rather than a general intention. A named person or a named place is what makes it actually go.
Where will your unneeded belongings actually end up?
