Not every thought deserves immediate publication.

Having a thought does not create an obligation to share it. Many observations are accurate and unnecessary, and saying them costs the other person something while gaining nothing. The impulse to say it immediately is usually about your own discomfort with holding it.
Before offering something, ask whether it is true, whether it is useful, and whether now is the moment. If it fails any of the three, hold it. You can always say it later. Very few things are made worse by a delay and quite a lot are made worse by immediate publication.
