A book can wait years for the version of you that can hear it.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Reception depends on the reader as much as on the writing. A book that meant nothing at twenty can open completely at forty, not because the sentences changed but because you have since lived through the thing it was describing. Abandoning something is therefore not a verdict on it. It may only mean the two of you have not met at the right moment yet.
Keep one book you could not get into rather than passing it on, and try it again after something significant happens in your life. The same patience is worth extending to advice you were once given and could not use.
