A promotion changes who listens before it necessarily changes what someone knows.

LEADERSHIP
A new title alters the room’s attention immediately, while the knowledge behind it grows at its ordinary pace. The same sentence that got half a nod last month gets written down this month, and that gap can fool the person promoted into thinking they suddenly became right more often. Deference is a response to position, not evidence.
If you have moved up recently, say plainly when you are unsure, and ask the people who were doing the work before you arrived. If you are on the other side, keep disagreeing where you would have disagreed anyway. Silence dressed as respect helps nobody.
When did people start listening to you for the wrong reason?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
