You become easier to control whenever your emotions are allowed to make permanent decisions.

Feelings are excellent information and poor legislation. They tell you accurately how something landed and almost nothing reliable about what should follow, because they are built to respond to the moment rather than the decade. When they are allowed to sign permanent contracts, you become predictable to anyone who knows how to provoke them. That predictability is what other people can use.

Build a delay into anything irreversible. Resignations, messages, purchases, endings, all of them can survive a night. Feel the whole thing fully, and then let the decision be made by the version of you who has slept.
