The person willing to repeat boring excellence eventually becomes difficult to compete with.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Excellence in practice is far less dramatic than it looks from outside. It is the same unremarkable actions performed properly, long after they stopped being interesting, by someone who was willing to be bored. Most people are not, which is precisely why the willingness compounds into an advantage that is very hard to catch. The barrier is tolerance, not ability.

Identify the boring thing in your field that everyone knows matters and almost nobody does consistently. Do that, without variation, for longer than feels reasonable. Reliability at the dull layer is where most real advantages actually come from.
