Tears are a good alterative, but a poor diet.

RESILIENCE
Weeping does something useful and it does not do everything. Letting grief out moves something that will not move otherwise, and a person who never cries is usually carrying more than they can say. Sorrow lived in permanently stops being a release and becomes the shape of the days. The line between the two is not about strength, and nobody crosses it on purpose.
In the middle of a loss, let the crying come as often as it comes. Also let one ordinary thing back in each week: a meal with someone, a walk, a small task finished. Not to move on, only to keep something else alive alongside it.
When does crying stop helping you and start keeping you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
