There is no good in arguing with the inevitable. The only argument available with an east wind is to put on your overcoat.

RESILIENCE

RESILIENCE
Some conditions are not up for negotiation, and the energy spent objecting to them is simply lost. The weather, the market, another person’s settled decision, the passage of time: none of these respond to being found unreasonable. What remains available is your preparation, which is usually a great deal more than it feels like in the moment of complaint.
Take the thing you have been protesting all month and accept for one day that it will not change. Spend that day on the overcoat, the practical adjustment that makes the unchangeable thing survivable, and see how much lighter the week gets.
What are you still arguing with that will not change?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
