The pilot cannot mitigate the billows or calm the winds.

RESILIENCE
You are responsible for the steering and not for the weather. Conditions arrive with no reference to your effort or your deserving, and mistaking them for a comment on your competence leads either to false guilt or to exhausting attempts at control. What remains yours is the handling, which is not nothing.
When something rough is happening, separate the two lists honestly: what is weather, and what is steering. Give all your attention to the second and stop arguing with the first. Doing that well in a bad season is its own kind of success.
What are you trying to control that was never yours?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
