Adversity is sometimes hard upon a man; but for one man who can stand prosperity there are a hundred that will stand adversity.

RESILIENCE
Most people can withstand a hard year; very few handle a good one well. Adversity narrows the choices, keeps you attentive and supplies plenty of honest feedback, while success removes the friction, surrounds you with agreement and asks nothing of you. The second is far more likely to change a person, and almost nobody has practised for it.
If things are going well for you now, hold on to the parts that kept you honest. Keep the same friends, the same working hours and the same habit of asking what you have got wrong. Success takes those away quietly, one at a time, unless you decide to keep them.
