If I owe Smith ten dollars and God forgives me, that doesn’t pay Smith.

REFLECTION
Being forgiven and making things right are two separate events, and only one of them changes anything for the person you wronged. Relief can arrive long before repair does, which is why guilt fades while the harm sits where you left it. Whether the forgiveness comes from prayer or from your own decision to move on, it settles your account with you, not with them.
Think of one person still carrying something you caused. Ask what would actually restore it: the money, the hour, the apology said out loud to them rather than rehearsed. Then do that part, whatever peace you have already made privately.
Which debt or apology of yours is still actually outstanding?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
