Clay has to go through the kiln to hold water. Your fire has a function.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some capacities only arrive through a difficult stretch, not because hardship is deserved but because certain things cannot be learned comfortably. Holding steady under pressure, knowing your own limits, being genuinely useful to someone in trouble; those tend to come from people who have been through something. That does not make the hard part good. It means the hard part is not wasted, which is a smaller and truer claim.

When you are through it, notice what you can do now that you could not before. Say it plainly to yourself. What you do with it afterward is yours to decide.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Could you hold something now that would have leaked before?
