Responsibility means your life remains partly yours even inside unfair situations.

Unfair situations remove much of your control and not all of it. Somewhere inside even a bad arrangement there is usually a decision that is yours: what you say, what you refuse, what you prepare, what you hold onto. Finding that space is how a life stays partly your own.

Within a situation you cannot fix, identify the choices that still belong to you and make them deliberately. Do not measure them against what you would control in a fair world. Measure them against not choosing at all.
