You cannot be recognized for work you are committed to hiding.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Recognition requires that people encounter the work, which means hidden work cannot be recognized no matter how good it is. That sounds obvious and is routinely ignored by people who wait to be discovered while showing nobody anything. The choice to keep it private is legitimate; expecting acknowledgment for it is not.
If you want your work seen, ask what you have actually shown and to whom. Put one thing in front of someone this week. You can keep some things private, but not the things you want credited.
What work of yours has nobody been allowed to see?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
