The stuff you make will mean more to you in ten years than almost anything you buy.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Objects you bought tend to fade into the background and then into a box. Something you made holds the week you made it: what you were trying to do, who you were around, what you could not do yet. It works as a record in a way a purchase never does, and it gets more interesting as the distance grows. Even the clumsy ones do this, sometimes especially the clumsy ones.

Keep the things you make, dated, somewhere you will find them again. A folder, a box, a shelf. In a few years they will tell you more about this stretch of your life than your camera roll does.
