Your work cannot inspire strangers while permanently protected from strangers.

Anything that affects people you do not know has to reach people you do not know. Keeping work within a trusted circle guarantees it stays there, and the wider effect you might have hoped for cannot happen. The protection and the reach are mutually exclusive.

If you want your work to matter beyond your immediate world, put it somewhere strangers can encounter it. Accept that they will not treat it as carefully as your friends did. That is what strangers are.
