Play isn’t wasted time. Kids understand something about the Kingdom that adults forget.

Play does not need to be justified by what it produces. Children are not being inefficient when they mess about, they are doing something with attention, trust and delight that adults train out of themselves. A lot of what gets said about the Kingdom sounds like that rather than like productivity.

Do something this week purely because it is fun and useless. Kick a ball around, draw badly, play the game with your little cousin properly. Notice that nothing in you gets worse for having spent the hour.
