Worry rehearses a disaster that hasn’t booked a date. Faith refuses to buy tickets.

Worry is a rehearsal for something that has not been scheduled. Your body runs the whole experience, the adrenaline and the sick feeling, for an event that may never arrive, which leaves you as tired as the real thing would. Faith does not argue the worry down point by point, it declines to buy the ticket. Knowing that will not switch it off, since anxiety is not solved by correction.
When the loop starts, name it out loud as a rehearsal instead of news. Ask what is true right now, in this room. If worry runs your days for weeks, that is worth telling a doctor or counselor about.
What are you rehearsing tonight that may never happen?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
