Dawn doesn’t ask permission from the night. Neither does God’s timing.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Morning is not negotiated with the night. It comes on its own schedule regardless of how long the dark ran or how convinced you were that this one was permanent. Long nights get no vote about whether they end. God’s timing works the same way, frustrating when you want it sooner and steadying when you cannot see any movement.

If you are in a long one, stop demanding a date and start watching for the first grey light. Keep doing the small things people do in the morning before you feel like it. Let the change be gradual, since that is how the actual sky does it.
