Self-image gets assembled from the inside, which means the part that distorts it is the part you cannot inspect. Everyone around you can see it clearly, and most of them will never mention it, because saying so is awkward and rarely welcomed. That combination is why it lasts. The information exists and it is simply not reaching you.

Ask one person who is honest with you what you are like to work with under pressure. Ask for the unflattering version specifically. Do not explain or correct while they answer, and thank them properly afterwards so they will do it again.
