Create systems that continue producing value when you leave the room.

A system that only works while you are watching it is not a system. It is you, with extra steps. The test is what happens in your absence, and the answer depends on whether the knowledge lives in the structure or in your head.

Take something you run and step away from it for a week deliberately. Whatever breaks shows you exactly which part exists only in your memory. Write that part down, and it stops being a dependency.
