Integrity is boring right up until the day it saves you.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Telling the truth usually produces nothing visible. You are honest about a small thing, you do what you said, and the day passes exactly as it would have anyway, so it can feel like a waste of a good opportunity. The payoff arrives in one lump, usually on a bad day, when somebody has to decide whether to believe you and the only thing available is your record. You cannot build that record retroactively.
Keep one small promise this week that you would rather quietly drop. Be honest in one place where a small lie would be easier and completely safe. That is the deposit.
When did doing the boring right thing protect you later?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
