Make your development useful to more than your résumé.

Development aimed only at your own advancement produces a good record and a thin experience. The same learning applied somewhere it helps someone becomes something else entirely, and it also tends to teach you more, because real use exposes what studying does not.

Take something you have recently learned and find a place to use it that will never appear on any record. The learning improves and so does the reason for it.
