Some outcomes need years because the person capable of holding them also needs years.

Some outcomes take years not because the work is slow but because you are not yet the person who could hold them. The judgement, the temperament, and the capacity all have to develop, and they develop at the pace of experience rather than effort.

When something is taking longer than you expected, consider what it is building in you rather than only what it is failing to produce. Arriving early at something you cannot carry is not a better outcome.
