Before you decide, ask one question: what am I not seeing right now?
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Every decision gets made from inside a partial view, and the missing part rarely announces itself. You weigh what is in front of you, which feels like weighing everything, and the thing that later wrecks the plan was simply never on the list. Asking what is absent is the only reliable way to catch it beforehand. It does not always turn something up, and when it does it saves a lot.
Make it one sentence before anything that matters this week. What would I need to know to be wrong, and who could tell me in five minutes.
Before your next choice, what sits outside your view?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
