You messed up. That doesn’t cancel your judgment forever. It just updated it.

One bad call is information about one situation, not a verdict on every decision you will ever make. The pull afterward is to hand your judgment to somebody else for a while, since yours clearly cannot be trusted. But judgment is not a permit that gets revoked. It is a running average, and you just added to it.

Write down the one thing you actually learned, in a single sentence. When a similar choice shows up this week, make it yourself with that sentence in mind. Getting it right once is how the average moves back.
