Loyalty to others is beautiful. Just don’t abandon yourself to prove it.

Standing by people is worth doing, and it stops working the moment the price is all of you. Sometimes loyalty gets defined as whatever you are willing to give up, so proving it means going a little further every time. That version has no ceiling and no finish line, which is how people end up unrecognizable inside a friendship they are proud of. Caring about someone was never meant to require disappearing.

Watch for loyalty that gets measured in what you sacrifice. You can be there for somebody and still keep your own plans, opinions and people. If keeping those counts as betrayal, the problem is not your loyalty.
