Crying in the parking lot and then walking in on time is a kind of strength nobody gives trophies for.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Doing what is required while you are coming apart is a real kind of strength and almost never recognized as one. There is no ceremony for it, because from outside all anyone sees is a person arriving on time. The feeling and the function separated, and you kept the function running anyway. That is hard, and it deserves acknowledgment even if it only comes from you.

If that is where you are right now, say so plainly to yourself instead of brushing past it. Then find somewhere the feeling is allowed out, because holding it indefinitely has its own cost. Being able to carry it does not mean carrying it alone.
